ebXML(Electronic Business using eXtensible Markup Language) A set of XML specifications for business data. A joint initiative by technology standards body OASIS and UN/CEFACT, the United Nations' electronic business unit, ebXML was created to prevent fragmentation of electronic commerce into multiple incompatible XML dialects, and to provide a migration path for existing users of EDI, the UN's pre-Internet e-commerce standard. It also provides for business process collaboration using BPSS (Business Process Specification Schema).
